Seeing rebellion in the party after distribution of ticket on Friday, senior BJP leaders were busy holding meeting throughout the day on Sunday. Party’s election in charge in the state Dharmndra Pradhan, Vinay Shahasrabuddhe, party’s state president Rakesh Singh and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar were present in the meeting.
After the meeting, Tomar and Singh called up those leaders who were angry over the ticket distribution. Tomar discussed with these leaders about the anger that is prevailing in the party about the 54 seats for which candidates have not been declared.
Tomar called Krishna Gaur to his house and discussed with her about the rebellion in the party and tried to pacify her. Besides that, they discussed the issue with other senior leaders in the state and tried to douse the flames of anger. In the evening, a discussion was held in the Chief Minister’s house about the rest of the names and the damage control exercise being done to calm down anger in the party. The Congress has also not declared candidates for the 54 seats for which the BJP has to declare its candidates. The BJP may not declare a few names till the Congress announces its candidates.
Like the BJP, the Congress has also launched a damage-control excise. The supporters of former MP of the party Satyavrat Chaturvedi are angry with the party leaders for not giving ticket to his son Nitin from Rajnagar. According to sources, MP Jyotiraditya Scindia has been asked to pacify Chaturvedi. Besides, Congress workers and ticket aspirants from Barbani and Nanawar have also begun to express their resentment. Some senior leaders of the party have started a damage-control excise.
