Five persons, including three parking attendants, were arrested after a couple alleged that they threatened and abused them, and vandalised their car, in Khan Market.

In her complaint, the woman said the incident took place on October 31 when she, her husband and a friend had gone to Khan Market. “My husband got out of the car as I was parking it, and signalled to a car behind us to stop. But the driver kept honking. My husband requested him to wait, but the driver tried to run him over,” the woman alleged.

She further alleged the errant driver got out and started threatening and abusing them: “We got scared and were about to leave, but the driver smashed the windshield of our car. His associates joined him; they abused, chased the car, and smashed the rear glass.”

A senior police officer said: “The woman stopped her car near a police post and requested for help. Police detained one of the accused, who alleged that the woman’s car had accidentally touched another car, following which they got into a heated argument which later turned into a scuffle. His other associates have also been arrested.”

DCP (New Delhi district) Madhur Verma said: “We arrested five persons and lodged an FIR under IPC sections 323, 341, 427, 147, 148 at Tughlak Road police station. They were later released on bail by a court.”
