A Leopard was spotted entering the Gandhinagar Secretariat premises during early morning hours on Monday.
The feline was captured in the secretariat's CCTV camera while trying to slip-into the office campus. However, by afternoon officials confirmed that the animal had moved out of the premises.
Soon after the leopard was spotted in the high-security zone, forest department officials were pressed into action.
According to an official who was a part of the search operation, experts from the forest department were also deployed to search the premises.
During the search operation, the entire area was secured to ensure safety of the officials involved. "The security of everyone is important for us. There are a lot of offices here are everyone's security is important. By the time we clear this area, we have to secure the area," Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayur Chavda had stated.
Tranquilising guns and cages were also brought to the secretariat campus as part of the operation to capture the animal.
