The Bihar government has dismissed 175 trainee police constables, suspended 23 police personnel and transferred 93.

Patna Zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan told media persons that the action has been taken after junior policemen attacked their seniors following the death of a lady constable last week. The constable was suffering from dengue and she died after being denied leave.

Over three hundred police constables, mostly women cops, resorted to violence in and outside Patna police lines damaging police vehicles and attacking officers. One commandant was injured in the violence.
