Farmer Anant Kumar Raghunath Khanke won Rs 12,50,000 on the show.
Farmer Anant Kumar Raghunath Khanke graced the Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 hot seat on Thursday episode. Host Amitabh Bachchan lauded his efforts and also asked the audience to support farmers in any way they can. The 32-year-old won Rs 12,50,000 on the show.
Speaking exclusively to indianexpress.com, Anant said, “It was a huge platform for me. An ordinary man like me received so much love, respect and fame through KBC. I have been trying to be on the show for the last 10 years. It has been a long wait for me. I have always been interested in current affairs. I like watching the news and reading newspapers. That helped me a lot to crack the questions. I have earned an amount that I couldn’t achieve in a lifetime. I hope all my problems are solved now.”
Talking about his hometown Hingoli, the farmer said, “It is a very small place with only a few thousand residents. To be able to name my village on national television was a big achievement. Everyone is happy that someone from here could reach a big show like KBC. And of course, to meet Amitabh ji.”

When asked to describe his meeting with Big B, the 32-year-old smiled and said, “That moment meant more to me than even Rs 7 crore. It was my life’s biggest achievement. He is such a humble man. It takes a big heart to interact with commoners with so much love and respect. I was truly touched by his actions.”
The man from Maharashtra had mentioned on the show that he wants to build a better future for his daughter. Sharing his plans of utilising his prize money, Anant said, “I have a loan of a few lakh, which I want to pay off first. Yes, most of the sum will be for my daughter. Also, our house doesn’t have a television set, AC or even a gas connection. I want to get the basic necessities. But I also want to do something for my village. Since there is always a shortage of water, I want to help build a system so that we can get water and agriculture can be aided.”
Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 airs Monday-Friday, 9 pm on Sony TV.
