KOLKATA: The city remained partly cloudy over the weekend and the weather could remain unchanged over the next 48 hours. While there was no possibility of showers, sporadic drizzles have not been ruled out. It could remain largely dry during next week’s festivities, though, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
“Till the north-westerly turns chillier, occasional drizzles will continue. On Friday, too, some parts of the city received light rain. But Kali Puja and Diwali will remain dry. It may not be uniformly sunny, though,” said RMC director GK Das.
With no rain-triggering system in sight, the sky is set to be clear during the festivities next week. Temperature, too, could be ideal at around 30 degrees. A cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal kept the city cloudy and led to a light drizzle on Friday morning. But the system was losing steam and may not be potent enough to influence the weather along the east coast, said weathermen.
The sun broke through the clouds by late afternoon and it could remain clear over the weekend, said the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
