Chennaiyin FC has had a disastrous start to its Indian Super League 2018-19 campaign, losing five of its opening six matches.

The Englishman went on to appreciate the effort of his players. “It’s always easy to change personnel, for the sake of it sometimes. I don’t think that’s the answer. To be fair, we totally dominated, literally from the first whistle to the last. We had the ball the whole time,” said Gregory during the post-match press conference.
“Mumbai had one shot in the first half. I think it had two in the second half when we were chasing the game, trying to throw a lot of men forward to get an equaliser. But again, as always, the effort was first class. The way we kept the football for long periods of the game, I was pleased with it.”
The gaffer emphasised on putting the ball into the back of the net as Chennaiyin has lost by a solitary goal on four occasions in this edition. “We didn’t score and we didn’t really create enough opportunities in front of goal. But other than that, we totally kept the ball from start to finish. We have to turn that possession into goals. It’s got to change sooner rather than later.”
