Realme phones will become costlier post the festive season, as per a series of tweets from company CEO Madhav Sheth. The brand was launched in India earlier in the year, and its product range features budget and mid-range smartphones. Sheth’s posts mention that the company will re-evaluate the prices of the phones, given the weakening rupee, and the reliance on import of key phone components.

The first tweet from Madhav Sheth has almost confirmed an impending price rise, that has been termed as an “upgrade of pricing”. Equating the state of the Indian rupee to that of traffic woes and rising pollution, he states that Realme intends to “figure out a solution” regarding its prices in the days following Diwali.

The unique design has also been seen in its recent flagship phones, Realme 2 and Realme 2 Pro. The latter features a dewdrop notch over the 6.3-inch FHD+ display, that runs the Snapdragon 660 processor, and comes with 16MP+2MP dual-rear cameras. Meanwhile, the budget-friendly Realme 1, priced at Rs 6,999, comes with 13MP+2MP dual-rear cameras, a 4230mAh battery, as well as a 6.2-inch HD+ display.
