Virat Kohli and his undying hunger to succeed go hand in glove and this phenomenon does not seem like stopping anytime soon. Be it Test, ODI or T20’s, Kohli is the King of all formats. In a career spanning over a decade, Kohli has been performing with extraordinary consistency and rewriting records at will. On Monday, India’s premier batsman turns 30 and seems all set to conquer the world. Presently, Kohli is on a break from international cricket. He was rested for the three-match T20I series against West Indies.

The rate at which Kohli has toppled records is mind-boggling. On his special day, let’s take a look back at some of those numbers-
Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs in the 50-over format. Kohli achieved the milestone in just 205 innings, bettering Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record (259 innings. He is also on top of the list of batsmen with the most number of runs in ODI’s in 2018. He is also the quickest to reach the landmark (in terms of balls faced). Kohli took just 10813 balls to score 10000 ODI runs.
Virat Kohli became the fastest to score 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year. He beat Hashim Amla’s record of 15 innings to score those runs in 2010.
Virat Kohli is the first cricketer to slam three consecutive hundreds against two opponents (West Indies, Sri Lanka).
As a captain, Virat Kohli is the fastest to reach 8000 runs (137 innings) international cricket.
The Delhi dasher has accumulated more than 300 runs in a bilateral ODI series on six different occasions. No other player has done it more than four times.
Virat also has the most number of centuries (18) while chasing. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 17 centuries when he slammed a ton against the West Indies in the fifth ODI.

Virat Kohli completed 1000 Test runs in 2018. This is the third consecutive year that the right-handed batsman has scored 1000 runs in the longest format of the game. He is now the only captain in the history to score 1000 runs in three consecutive years. Kohli scored 1215 runs in 2016 and 1059 runs in 2017 respectively.
Virat Kohli has also amassed 1,202 runs from 14 matches at a staggering average of 133.55.
Virat Kohli has now scored 24 centuries in his Test career. Apart from that, he also became quickest Indian batsman to score 24 Test centuries. Kohli scored his 24th ton in 123rd innings, breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who batted 125 times.

No player has scored more runs in T20I chases than Virat Kohli. Brendon McCullum previously held the record with 1006 runs until he was overtaken by Kohli.
