Vadodara/Anand: A shocking case of an orphange’s trustee in Anand allegedly molesting minor girl inmates came to light on Sunday.
The accused Mainesh Parmar was booked after the child welfare committee directed the police to register an FIR against him. When Parmar learnt about it, he went to the orphanage – Jivan Anand – at Boriavi village in Anand taluka and created ruckus after which he was arrested.

According to police, 42-year-old Parmar, who has been superintendent-cum-trustee of the orphanage for the last 17 years, used to allegedly call the girls to his room and molest them. He even threatened them to not talk to anyone about it. Sources said that recently four girls studying in class X recorded his obscene talks on a mobile phone and sent it to a woman employee of the orphanage.

She then informed other trustees who brought it to the notice of child welfare committee (CWC) of state government. Police officials said that the committee talked to some of the girls. After this, the committee ordered removal of Parmar from the orphanage. Police were also directed to book Parmar and an FIR was registered on Sunday. He was booked under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Parmar went to the orphanage on Sunday evening and assaulted some people there. Cops rushed there and arrested him. A separate case assault and criminal intimidation was lodged against him.

“As of now, Parmar has been arrested for assaulting and creating ruckus at the orphanage.,” said a police official.
