Cricket is a religion in India. It connects citizens of the country irrespective of caste, culture, religion, it is one thing that comes above all. Girls are crazy about cricketers and many of them daydream of getting married to these star cricketers. Today, in this section, we look at a cricketer who fell for his fan. Yes, it’s cricketer Stuart Binny and Mayanti Langer. An avid sports follower must be aware of her. Mayanti is a sports reporter/anchor and can be seen chatting with players on various occasions.
Stuart, son of former medium pacer Roger Binny, and Mayanti first met during an interview. Mayanti, as reporter-anchor, interviewed Binny many times and left Binny mesmerised with her beauty and wit, who straight away gave his heart. It is their love for the game of cricket that brought the two closer in real life. Interestingly, Stuart proposed Mayanti on a cricket field and from thereon, Stuart’s innings outside the cricket field began.
The two dated for a while and tied the knot in September 2012. Interestingly, by then, Stuart wasn’t part of the Indian national team and Mayanti had already hosted cricket and football World Cups. Soon, after the marriage, as they say marriage is man’s best decision. His decision changed his life, as he started getting better on the field. And, Stuart also admitted Mayanti’s contribution in his success. The two are married successfully for 6 years and are going strong despite facing criticism. During the 2012 T20I World Cup, coaches refused to allow WAGs of cricketers accompanying their partners on tour, which was a big concern for the two as Stuart was part of the team travelling for the World Cup while Mayanti was asked to do the anchoring. Their relationship has remained strong through all the ups and downs.
