A Fordsburg man was shot and killed in the early hours of Sunday morning in an apparent hijacking, paramedic services have said.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedic services attended to the man on Mint Street.
"Paramedics found the man lying on the side of the road. [He] had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and leg and showed no signs of life."
Despite paramedics initiating CPR and advanced life support interventions for 30 minutes, no vital signs returned and the man was declared dead.
"The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations."
