An alleged thief led police on a high-speed chase in an Audi before ditching the car and jumping into crocodile-infested waters, incredible night vision footage has revealed.
The daring alleged escape was caught on Queensland Police's state-of-the-art Polair equipment at about 10pm on Friday, which shows sparks flying from the black Audi on Gympie Road in the north Brisbane area.
After swerving through traffic, the car then appears to lose one of its front wheels as it drives toward a bridge crossing the North Pine River near Petrie and Lawnton.

Police said the driver, 32, from Nanango north-west of Brisbane, then swam around one kilometre down the river having left the Audi on the roadside (pictured)
Officers had successfully deployed two deflation devices in the Bray Park area.
Police said the driver, 32, from Nanango north-west of Brisbane, then dumped the Audi on the side of the road before swimming around one kilometre down the river, according to The Courier-Mail.
The river is known to contain bull sharks, and crocodiles can be found in the Queensland city's intricate waterway network.
Police said the man eventually gave himself up to police, who were waiting for him on the riverbank, and can be seen wading through the water with his hands raised at the end of the Polair vision.
The man has since been charged with three counts of stealing, one count of burglary, dangerously operating and unlawfully using a motor vehicle and unlawfully possessing a weapon.
He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 3.
Officers also took a woman, 25, from Murrumba Downs, into custody from the car and also allegedly found a firearm where the car was ditched.
She was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and one of unlawfully using a motor vehicle.
She will appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on November 26.
