Australia vs South Africa 1st ODI Highlights: Australia coach Justin Langer vowed Saturday to put a smile back into cricket as South African skipper Faf Du Plessis said he expects the sledging to be toned down in their one-day series. The two sides meet in Perth on Sunday for the first time since the Test series in South Africa this year boiled over with Australian players attempting to alter the ball with sandpaper. The cheating saw Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft banned, while David Lehmann quit as coach. Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland has since left and chairman David Peever fell on his sword on Thursday. Langer, Lehmann's replacement, has pledged to change the win-at-all-costs culture and said he hoped the first game of the summer at home would be a step in winning back fans.
WIN! David Miller scores the winning runs as South Africa beat Austraia by 6 wickets in the first ODI.
WICKET! Two more runs need to win and Heinrich Klaasen could not see it through. He departs for 2. SA 151/4
WICKET! Marcus Stoinis strikes and Aiden Markram has to walk back on 36. SA 144/3
South Africa almost have the match in hand. With 8 wickets in hand, the Proteas need 10 runs to win.
GONE! Marcus Stoinis strikes and Reeza Hendricks too misses out on his half century. He departs for 44. Easy catch for Chris Lynn at mid-on. SA 122/2
SAVED BY THE RESCUE! Aiden Markram is caught behind off the glove down leg. Umpire gives an OUT. Markram reviews. The replays showed it was NOT OUT!
WICKET! A breakthrough! De Kock looking to finish the game quickly, aiming to loft straight down the ground, comes from low down on the bat and goes very high, but without much distance. De Kock departs for 47.
SA 94/1
It has been excellent showing with the bat from Quinton de Kock as he is steering South Africa slowly towards an easy win. All hope is not lost though, and a wicket or two can make all the difference here.
The play resumes after the break. Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks walk out in the middle with the bat. It will be Mitchell Starc who will start with the ball.
Here is the big question - can Australia stifle South Africa to make a challenging run chase?
South Africa reach 28/0 in 5 overs and the players will take Dinner break now.
After giving away 16 runs in the first over, Nathan Coulter-Nile is immediately replaced by Mitchell Starc. It was absurd he was not given the ball straightaway by captain Aaron Finch.
FOUR! Quinton de Kock shows off his brilliant form as he hammers Nathan Coulter-Nile for two boundaries in the over. Glorious risk free cricket from the left-handed batsman.
P.S: Why is Hashim Amla not playing? He has been ruled out due to finger injury.
Bit of a change in the top order. Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock are out in the middle to open the innings for South Africa. Josh Hazlewood has been given the new ball for Australia. CHASE IS ON!
The lowest total Australia have successfully defended in a full ODI is 172.
There will be a short 10-minute break in which South Africa will take on the bat before the dinner break. Stay tuned for the second innings.
GONE! Lungi Ngidi gives the final blow and Nathan Coulter-Nile cameo comes to an end. He skied a pull shot but Heinrich Klaasen was standing under it. Australia bowled out for 152, South Africa need 153 runs to win.
Power hitting from returning Nathan Coulter-Nile has seen Australia cross the 150-run mark, something which did not look possible at one stage. AUS 151/9
WICKET! Imran Tahir gets his 2nd wicket as he traps Mitchell Starc on the knee roll. The umpire raises his fingers. Starc reviews. The decision goes in Proteas' favour. AUS 140/9
WICKET! Imran Tahir ends Alex Carey's resistance as he tries to hit a slow sweep. But gives an easy catch to de Kock behind the stumps. AUS 122/8
FOUR! Top shot from Nathan Coulter-Nile off Kagiso Rabada and he takes Australia over the 100-run mark in style.
GONE! Alex Carey is RUN OUT! A direct hit from cover by David Miller. Cummins is struggling. Was dropped into the off side by Carey, Cummins was slow out of the blocks and he's well short. AUS 89/7
Alex Carey and Pat Cummins have built a good partnership of 23 runs together. The duo are steering Australia towards the 100-run mark, which did not look possible at the moment.
Australia skipper Aaron Finch spoke to TV broadcaster and he is saying a total near 150 would be hard to chase on a surface which is favouring the seamers.
WICKET! This is a perfect example of how to do catching practice in training. A length ball from Phehlukwayo and Stoinis drives it through the line, straight to Heinrich Klaasen. AUS 66/6
Australia are half way down and now the onus to settle the side is on vice-captain Alex Carey and Marcus Stoinis. While Stoinis is hitting quick runs, Carey is scoring at a slow pace.
WICKET! Glenn Maxwell's brief cameo comes to an end fairly quickly with Andile Phehlukwayo getting his second wicket. Maxwell stepped forward with into a drive, but mistimed it and the ball went to Heinrich Klaasen's hands at mid-on. A low catch, so umpire decided to check it with TV umpire. Soft signal was out and the ball was clearly under the hands. AUS 48/5
WICKET! Andile Phehlukwayo strikes and Chris Lynn has to walk back. Massive appeal for caught behind and Lynn has asked for a review. Why would he waste a review, it was hitting a small edge. Good, low catch by De Kock.
AUS 36/4
It has been a crazy first hour with Australia losing their top three batsmen in a jiffy. Chris Lynn and Alex Carey have built a 28-run partnership though and solid effort from the two.
AUS 36/3 after 16 overs
FOUR! Chris Lynn smacks a full toss delivery for a straight boundary towards mid-on. First boundary for the Aussies after 66 delivers in the innings!
Lungi Ngidi returns to the attack and he replaces Dale Steyn.
Bowls a maiden over.
It has been one of the worsts starts for Australia. The end of first powerplay sees the home side sitting at 19/3 after the top order was left rattled by South Africa seamers Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi.
Kagiso Rabada has come out to replace Lungi Ngidi. Plenty of pace and bounce on the WACA pitch and Rabada would love bowling on this surface. He can get more speed than Ngidi here.
WICKET! Lungi Ngidi gets the breakthrough after bowling two maiden overs. Skipper Aaron Finch has been adjudged LBW after he was trapped in the leg. Finch walks off, and takes no review. Replay showed it was going over. HUGE MISTAKE.
AUS 8/3

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
WICKET! Dale Steyn gets another and it is a BIG BLOW! D'arcy Short has edged and a tremendous catch at second slips by Faf du Plessis, who flies high on his left and plucks it above his left shoulder. AUS 4/2
WICKET! With a slow start, the pressure was building and Travis Head makes the first mistake. Dale Steyn gets the first breakthrough. A half-volley across the left-hander and Head has edged that one straight to Quinton de Kock behind the stumps. SA 4/1
Lungi Ngidi carries on the attack from the other end. Slow start for Aussies. Strange Australia decided to send Travis Head as opener. Why not Darcy Short?
Travis Head and Aaron Finch out to open the innings for Australia. Dale Steyn starts off with the new ball for Proteas. HERE WE GO!
The players are coming out on the field and it will be National Anthems for both the teams. First up, it will be South Africa's national Anthem, which will be followed by Australia's National Anthem.
