Buisnessman gunned down in Nellore

A 40-year-old buinessman was shot dead from a point blank range by two unidentified assailants in the city late on Saturday.

The duo came in a motorcycle to his shop in Fatekhanpeta and opened fire as the businessman, Mahendra Singh downed the shutters after sprucing up the shop ahead of Diwali festival along with workers, Superintendent of Police Aishwarya Rastogi said. The assailants swiftly made good their escape.

“We are scanning all available evidence including CCTV footage and are sure to nab the offenders soon”, the SP said while coordinating with a a team of sleuths in collection of technical evidences and examination of eye witnesses. Business rivalry seemed to be the cause of the killing it was inferred.

Mr.Singh, native of Barmer in Rajasthan was doing marble business and running machine tools shop here for the past 15 years, Nellore Town Deputy Superintendent of Police M.B.M. Muralikrishna added.
