A Tasmac employee was robbed of Rs 2.49 lakh by unidentified miscreants on Friday night, while returning from work.

Investigations revealed that four masked men carried out the theft. They reportedly threatened the supervisor with weapons and said that they would kill him if he failed to handover the money to them.
After snatching away the cash from Murugan, the four men fled from the spot. However, nobody was injured. Based on a complaint lodged by Murugan, Suchindram police filed a case under Section 392 of IPC. A search was on nab the culprits.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at 10.15 pm in Akkara Nallur near Suchindram in Kanniyakumari. The Tasmac employee was identified as Murugan (48) of Puthugramam, the supervisor of the shop. He was returning home on a two-wheeler with two salesmen from the same outlet.
