Drama… and lots of it
Dramatic eyes are not just for the ramp or photoshoots. During festive season, you can go full throttle on the make-up front. So, experiment with your liner and try out everything — from highly stretched winged liners to super thick wings and smoky eyes to glittery kohls. Don’t hold back!
Never without my primer
It is okay to take the usual (foundation, concealer and powder) route on a regular day or even for outing with family and friends. But while going to a Diwali party, it is important that you get the base right. So, after doing your skincare routine, comprising cleansing, toning, serum, moisturising and sun protection, make sure you apply a face primer before foundation to set the make-up right. This way, the make-up stays longer and evens out all your skin imperfections.
Glossy lips are a must
Lip glosses are not just for mehndi and haldi functions. Diwali is the time to try out your hot pink and wine lip glosses. The kind of glamour they add to your face and the overall look…uff!
Contouring kit, illuminators and bronzers need to come out
Illuminators can be applied right at the beginning of your make-up routine and contouring kit can come out somewhere in the end. As for bronzers, don’t just stick to the tried-and-tested glowy blush look. Add a dash of bronzer to your face for those shiny cheekbones you have been meaning to recreate!
Glamourous eyelids for one and all
Diwali screams for attention and so should your eye make-up. Don’t go with your usual subtle colours. Try out bold shades like gold, bronze, metallic black and even royal blue and sap green. What’s to be afraid of? These colours will not only make your eyes look wide open, but will also go well with your traditional outfits.
