The house

What we did

The brief was for "a house with a European warehouse feel". Built over three levels, a winding staircase connects the top-floor master suite with the bedrooms and living spaces. In addition to a swimming pool and outdoor dining table, there's a spacious home theatre.

Favourite room

"The kitchen!" says Taryn. "I love to cook and I can see everything so when people come over I don't feel like I'm missing out."

The 'hood

"It's so convenient," says Tyrone. "We are close to cafes and restaurants and there are so many parks around us that we can afford to not have a big backyard."

Best advice

"Let the architect do what they do best and design," says Tyrone.

Future plans

"There are always a few little things to be done, but we're happy here," says Tyrone.
