Three men steal neighbour’s two horses, kill one
TNN | Nov 3, 2018, 07:09 ISTLudhiana: Three residents of Jagirpur village in Meharban allegedly stole two horses of their neighbour due to an old enmity and killed one of them by shoving sticks into its anus.
The Meharban police booked the trio, Damanpreet Singh, Sonu and Vicky, for stealing and killing the animal. On Friday, the police arrested Damanpreet and produced him before the court, which sent him to three days’ police custody.
Complainant Nikka Singh of Jagirpur village said he owned two horses and one cow, which he kept in a cattle shed outside his house. On Thursday morning when he went to the shed, he was shocked to find the horses missing. He started searching for them and found his one horse injured outside the village and the other dead in a vacant room.
He alleged that the accused had beaten up the horses and shoved sticks into their anuses, following which one died.
Meharban SHO sub-inspector Davinder Sharma said a case under sections 380 (theft in dwelling house), 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the IPC has been registered and a hunt was on for rest of the accused.
