A Chief Operating Officer of a media network has been booked by Basavanagudi Women Police Station for allegedly sexually harassing his junior when they were working for Namma Bengaluru Foundation in May last year.
The woman, who is no more with the foundation, filed a complaint with the police after the body, which is run by BJP MP Rajeev Chandrashekhar, reportedly did not take action following the Internal Complaints Committee investigation.
According to the complaint, Abhinav Khare, COO, Asianet, made lewd comments to her and even showed her pornographic content on his mobile phone. The police have registered a case and summoned the victim to appear before the magistrate to record her statement. They will take action based on the statement, a police officer said.
In an earlier response on social media, Mr. Khare called the allegations a ‘case of lies and deceit’ and said it was a ‘vindictive’ response by the woman for being sacked from her job.
