The Property Industry Foundation has announced that Parkview Constructions will fund the foundation’s next home for at-risk young people.

The six-bedroom home – called PIF House Parkview, to be built in Macarthur Heights and owned and run by Aboriginal charity KARI – will house five young people leaving foster care, and a live-in carer.

A cheque for $300,000 was presented to PIF chief executive Kate Mills by Parkview executive chairman Tony Touma. It is the first contribution to the PIF Building Fund, with PIF House Parkview the first house to be built from the fund.

''When the opportunity to help fund the development of a new house arose, we were excited for the prospect of giving back in a tangible way. We have been overwhelmed by the support of our suppliers, subcontractors and partners in assisting with our cause,'' Mr Touma said.

Project advisory group APP has been appointed to manage design and construction of the new Sydney Swans headquarters and community centre. The project involves a $55 million adaptive re-use of the heritage-listed Royal Hall of Industries at Sydney’s Moore Park. The NSW government will also tip in $20 million as part of the community centre project.

The new headquarters will also be home to the Swans' women’s team and an expanded QBE Sydney Swans Academy. Co-tenants will include the NSW Swifts and the GO Foundation for Indigenous Education, established by Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin. The facility will also incorporate a multipurpose function centre, a Red Cross Donor Centre, a cafe and a museum.

Construction is expected to start in mid-2019, subject to planning and development approvals.
