Jamnagar police offer 30% subsidy for locks with alarm

Police has decided to provide 30% subsidy for purchase of battery operated locks which rings alarm when it is tampered with. The subsidy will be given from fund under the Suraksha Setu scheme of the government.
Jamnagar police said that the lock would set of an alarm if somebody tried to tamper with it. This will alert the police patrolling in the area and help in nabbing the accused.
Jamnagar superintendent of Police Sharad Singhal told TOI “During Diwali 35-40% families go out after locking their homes. This is the period when cases of housebreak and burglary increases. We will depute additional force of home guards during night time so when the alarm is set of the home guard jawan as well as security staff of the society are alerted.”
Under the scheme, a Jamnagar resident can purchase the lock from any vendor of a recognize company with proper warranty. A vendor has to give discount to the purchaser and has to submit the details of purchase with copy of bill to police to claim his 30% subsidy. This scheme will be in force till Diwali.
The police department is also giving 30% subsidy to housing societies for CCTV camera installation. A society need to be be registered with co-operative registrar to avail the benefit up to Rs 2 lakh, police said.
