Coach Binu George wants his boys to get three points against CCFC

Gokulam Kerala FC is keen on getting past a much-fancied Chennai City FC in the Hero I-League clash scheduled at the EMS Stadium here on Sunday.

The last time the two met at this venue, it turned out to be a drab draw. But Gokulam’s Head Coach, Binu George, does not want another goalless affair.

He wants his boys to go out there and get those three points. “CCFC is a good team with great strikers from Spain. Nestor Gordilla and Pedro Manzi are in striking form. We do not have such super stars but the Indian players are very good. I believe they will turn things around for the team this time,” he said..

He was not pleased with those two drawn encounters against Mohun Bagan and Neroca. “I don’t want another draw, all I want is a win for the sake of the football-loving spectators.”

He said the team is just getting into the groove. “They are coordinating nicely and this will be the right time for them to strike.”

Akbar Nawas, CCFC’s Head Coach, on the other hand, said the team will try be competitive. “The home team is good but I have advised my boys to play with a free mind.”

He was quite convinced with the vast local talent in the team. “I was happy the way they played against the Churchill Brothers. The Goan men were fit and strong but the Tamil Nadu players tackled their challenges with aplomb.”

Obviously, he would expect them to jell well with the ‘famous four’ from Spain and bring home a good result.

The weather may have its say as well. It has been raining here and that can probably upset the plans of both teams.
