VW’s Range-Topping Amarok Aventura Aims Directly At Mercedes X-Class V6

VW is introducing the most luxurious version of the Amarok pickup truck in the UK in the form of the Aventura special edition.

The new range-topping version of the VW Amarok is available to order from today, with a starting price of £39,960, excluding VAT. That price tag positions the Amarok directly against the Mercedes X-Class 350d, which costs from £38,350, excluding VAT.

For that amount of money, the new VW Amarok Aventura comes with 20-inch Talca alloy wheels, a body-colored sports bar, chrome-plated side bars with step and LED lighting, 14-way adjustable seats dressed in soft Nappa leather, automatic climate control, infotainment system with touchscreen display and App-Connect, reversing camera and more.

Like all Amarok models, the new Aventura special edition also comes with underbody cladding, power-folding door mirrors and a protective coating for the bed.

Customers will be also offered Ravenna Blue or Indium Grey matt paint finishes at the reduced price of £2,335 (ex VAT). Other options include model-specific Mountain top roll covers in black or silver for £1387.50 (ex VAT).

Power comes from VW’s 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine producing 254hp (258PS) under normal driving and 268hp (272PS) during overboost. Torque is rated at 427lb-ft (580Nm), produced between 1,400 and 3,000 rpm, channeled to the 4Motion all-wheel drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
