Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrest four for robbery, murder in New Seemapuri case

The crime branch of Delhi police have arrested four people in connection with an alleged case of murder and robbery case in New Seemapuri area of Wednesday. Police said that one of the accused is the neighbour of the deceased who had planned to rob the house.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Pankaj, Naveen, Saajan Beniwal, and Sandeep Chaturvedi, who allegedly killed Sanjay at his residence where they had allegedly gone to commit robbery.

"We had been working to bust the gang of robbers who were involved in several cases of theft, dacoity during which we got an information that an information that members of one gang were involved in the murder of Sanjay. After which with the help of technical surveillance two robbers Pankaj and Naveen were arrested from Karkardooma. On their instance, Saajan and Sandeep were also arrested on Thursday," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Rajesh Deo.

Police said during interrogation, Pankaj revealed that Sandeep had approached him for committing dacoity at Sanjay's house as he usepected him to have 50 lakhs worthe items in his house.

"On Tuesday night Pankaj along with Upender, Mahesh, Vijay and Naveen went to Sanjay's house and tied his hands and legs while he was sleeping. However, he woke up and started shouting for help. Sensing trouble, the accused strangulated him and fled from the spot with a few articles," said Deo.

Police said Saajan is the prime conspirator in the case as he was Sanjay's neighbour. Sanjay had allegedly shared once with Saajan about the cash and jewellery in his house after which he planned the dacoity with Sandeep, his colleague.
