He tells us there are a dozen officers who patrol the beach year round.
When it comes to cracking down on glass...this is now the routine: violators will first get a verbal warning...then a written one before getting the ticket.

Baldovinos also mentions the warning total increased because there were more beach goers this year than previous years.
People should more aware for the environment and animals.
South padre island fire department says they've handled a few cases of people getting cut on the beach.
The department couldn't specify if they happened because of littered glass.
To avoid a fine, just dump the glass.
