The state government has decided to hold a sweetmeat festival on November 14 to celebrate the first year of the Geographical Indication (GI) tag for rosogolla.
The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) will organise the event at Mishti Hub in Eco Park.
“The festival will commemorate the first year of our state getting the GI tag. We are teaming up with various associations and food enterprises. Haripada Bhowmik, who has written a book on the sweetmeat, will share a few stories about it,” additional chief secretary and HIDCO chairman, Debasish Sen told The Indian Express.
