MANGALURU: A class ten student turned into a role model after her death by donating her body to the medical college.
Prathiksha, 16, daughter of Kumaraswamy and Vandana Kumaraswamy was a student of Sharada Vidyalaya. She excelled in her studies and was also active in extra-curricular activities. For the last two years she was under treatment for bone cancer and was bed-ridden from the past four months. The doctors said she had completely recovered but the cancer relapsed again. However, from past days, her health condition got from bad to worse.
When the girl realised that she wouldn’t live any longer, she requested her parents to donate her body to the hospital. Her parents were taken aback by her decision. After two days of her passing away her body was donated to a private hospital on November 1.
Prathiksha is survived by her parents, as well as an elder brother, Prajwal Krishna, who is a second year degree student, and Preetham, her twin-brother. Both Prathiksha and Preetham were tenth standard students at the same school.
