Confused motorists were left asking 'why did the koala cross the road' after one of the marsupials brought traffic to a standstill.
Footage shows the quintessentially Australian moment the cuddly critter paused in the middle of a road in Adelaide.
Music teacher and mother-of-two Fiona Johnson said she confused the koala for a wayward dog when she was driving home on Wednesday morning.

Confused motorists were left asking 'why did the koala cross the road' after one of the marsupials brought traffic to a standstill
'I haven't got the foggiest why he stopped right in the middle of the road,' Mrs Johnson said.
'He had no awareness of any threat, just stopped to do his thing and carried on when he felt like it.'
'At first I thought it was dog that slipped out of its lead so I slowed down. When I saw what it was, I reached for my phone to show my daughter.'
Warmer weather has sent koalas on the move to find a mate, putting them at risk of being hit by cars while crossing roads.
It comes as the NSW Government rolls out a $45 million campaign to protect threatened koala populations.
Fiona said a female pedestrian made sure the marsupial made it out of harm's way before she finished the drive home.

'This is mating season and unfortunately many koalas are hit by cars,' she said.
'No one wants koalas hurt so all the cars that were aware of it came to a stop until it made it to safety.'
'We do see koalas in the gum trees near our house, but this is definitely the first time I've seen them doing this.'
