Karnataka: On the 63rd foundation day of Karnataka, the state is hosting Karnataka Rajyotsava which is known for its vibrancy, as red and yellow flags of Karnataka are displayed at various places across the state. People from all walks of life come together and celebrate the state’s rich and varied culture. Karnataka which was initially called as Mysore was renamed as Karnataka in 1973.
Kerala: In Kerala, marking the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the state, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor shared a video that captured many reasons to visit Kerala. Locally known as Kerala Piravi, Keralites across the world celebrate this day with great joy. Organised on linguistic principles, the modern borders of Kerala came into existence in 1956 when Travancore-Cochin state was merged with Malabar district of Madras and Kasaragod taluk of South Canara district. Parts of Southern Travancore-Cochin, on the other hand, went to Madras state.
