Liquor worth Rs 40 lakh seized in Rajkot

RAJKOT: A huge stock of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) has been seized from Rajkot district last night. Police in two different raids in the wee hours of Thursday seized IMFL worth Rs 40 lakh that was supposed to supply to various bootleggers for delivery before Diwali festival.
According to official communication circulated by police the IMFL of premium brands worth Rs 29 lakh seized near Kuvadva on Rajkot Ahmedabad highway. This liquor was being transported in a mini truck going towards Rajkot. According to sources the liquor stock in Rajkot was coming from Rajashtan and Daman. According to police the demand for premium brands of liquor increases during festive season.
Rajkot rural police in a raid after midnight on Wednesday on the house on the base of specific information seized IMFL worth Rs 11 lakh in Gondal a town 30km far from Rajkot. The liquor was hidden in a cellar of the house. Gondal is believed to be the center point for supplying liquor in Upleta, Dhoraji and Junagadh.
