The most 'dateable' names on Tinder have been revealed - and you might be surprised

  • Interestingly, they're not names you might commonly hear in Australia
  • But nonetheless Liv, Bronte and Paris came out on top for the girls list
  • And for the boys it was Oli, Lachie, Hunter and Harrison winning hearts

Even though we don't get to choose our own names, they can be very important when it comes to finding a date on Tinder, a new study has suggested.

One of the world's most popular dating applications assessed which monikers were being right-swiped the most online, and came to an interesting conclusion.

If your name is Liv or Oli you're in luck because they've topped the list - while unique names like India, Demi, Cal and Hugo also made the cut.

So it would appear that Tinder users in Australia are attracted to names with international flare – with the French name Antoine even making the top 10.

But nonetheless it looks like the ladies love swiping right on classic Aussie guys names as Lachie, Hunter and Harrison, many of which you'll find attached to the locals.

There was a nod to geographical names in Australia with Bronte ranking highly for girls, one of Sydney's most idyllic eastern suburbs, and Fraser in the list of guys, also the name of the World Heritage site Fraser Island in Queensland.

Liv, which is short for Olivia, makes sense when you consider it's one of the most popular girls names in the country.

In a similar way, Oli is short for Oliver, which peaked at number one for popular boys names this year Down Under.
