Collector holds meeting with officials to review precautionary measures

Collector Rohini R. Bhajibhakare has said that 180 special fever screening camps were being held in the district to prevent outbreak of dengue and A (H1N1) flu.

Detailing various steps taken to prevent the outbreak of viral fever in the district, she said that special wards were established in all the government hospitals round-the-clock for treating patients with fever. She said that three special camps are held in each blocks by the mobile medical team everyday and a total of 180 camps were being held across the district. Treatment is provided for fever with tablets, Nilavembu Kashayam is given and awareness is created among the people in the camps, she added.

The Collector assured that all steps are being taken to prevent outbreak and spread of diseases and asked the people to cooperate with officials during fogging and other anti-dengue operations.

On Thursday, she held a meeting with officials of all the departments to review the precautionary measures taken to prevent dengue.

The health department officials also distributed Nilavembu Kashayam to court staff and visitors on the integrated court premises in Salem.
