Do you remember there was a time when the award functions were only for beauty and films?

Yes, I remember that.

They awarded the most beautiful girl or the best film.

Yes, that was so good. It was an honour to win those awards since they were so serious and very rare.

Now, these awards and awardees have turned into a joke since there are so many awards that one does not even bother about them.

Yes, in fact people are at times embarrassed to get the awards because the titles are so silly and they have not done anything great to get the recognition. 

Yes, now awards have moved from honouring good films and beauties to media organisations, magazines, TV channels, websites, retailers, real estate companies, designers, shoemakers to even builders and even restaurants and caterers, have all jumped onto this awards bandwagon.

They do this since it is the easiest way to get publicity in the media for their companies, brands, and organisations.

And you know who the awardees are of course?

Yes, very often the awardees have nothing to do with the title award. They give awards to Bollywood stars since that is the only guarantee for publicity. 

Even the categories of the awards are so silly that one can’t stop laughing.

Yes, they award Style Icon to an actress who has no knowledge of style. She is like a dumb clothes hanger on which the stylists hang their clothes.

Yes, that is so funny.

Then they run out of categories so they give titles like Fresh Face, Newcomer, rising star, most handsome male, beautiful man, stylish legend, international icon, superstar, eternal legend, cute couple, shining light – the titles are endless and hilarious.

There are also award functions for the fastest pizza eater, the best kulfi maker, and the quickest sandwich maker. Some of the subjects for the awards are really useless and only created to get the brand noticed.

Yes, these silly awards will also again give titles to the winners – most glamorous kulfi eater, most dazzling sandwich maker, and the cutest pizza eater.

I have even heard of awards for the best looker in pyjamas, best person who can drink water gracefully, the cutest looker on top of the Himalayas.

Now stop that I can’t believe there are such awards given out too. 

I am not joking there are people who want to win them and they even nominate themselves for the awards. So the organisers are so happy that they have unbelievable categories like winner who can hold her breath the longest and this also has a male winner. Then they select the most stylish on top of the Himalayas. 

Oh no this is getting so funny.

Of course there are awards for the best airport look, the best gym look, now the best shopping look as well as the best look when you are meeting your secret boyfriend.

Now if we want to laugh no need to listen to a stand-up comic there is a lot of comedy in silly awards, their nominees and winners.
