Police say two packages of Twizzlers contained sewing needles.

Police are on the South Shore are encouraging parents to check their children's Halloween candy.

The Marshfield Police Department posted a photo of an apparent sewing needle inside a Twizzler to its social media accounts early Thursday afternoon.

"Important warning," the post stated. "We are investigating two packages of Twizzlers Twists that contained sewing needles inside the candy."

Marshfield police said the candy was received in the Brant Rock area.

"Advised to throw away Twizzlers and inspect all other candy," the post stated.
