more-in

Berger Paints India Ltd. (BPIL) reported a marginal decline in net profit – by ábout 3 % – in the second quarter ended September 2018. While profit stood at ₹102.2 crore, revenue increased by 15.6% to ₹1,330.4 crore.

The company’s standalone expenses increased by 17% to ₹1,183.6 crore.

Bulk of the increase was due to a 47.7% rise in raw material costs, the company said.

BPIL managing director Abhijit Roy said that the rupee depreciation and crude price hike had led to the spike in costs.
