'You just need to achieve an orgasm, sensualness while smelling and kissing your mother's shoes. Nothing has to show. And these are 100 per cent private,' the message read.

When girl questioned why the request was relevant, she was told that 'every model has done it'.

In another message, a girl was threatened with blackmail.

'Remove your story please or all the videos you sent will be posted online,' the message stated.

About 900 girls and young women have been in touch with Hijab House since it became aware of the scam a fortnight ago, when it began getting 30 to 40 messages daily.

'An account has been pretending to work for us and has been manipulating young hijabis into sending inappropriate things via DM,' the Instagram post stated.

'The account has been blackmailing young hijabis: forcing them to do things using threats, asking them for personal details, making stalking claims, intimidation, bullying and downright harassment including sexual harassment.'

The 13-year-old girl that was blackmailed into smelling and kissing her mother's shoes was left humiliated after the image was sent to her friends, according to Hijab House owner Tariq Houcher.

'It caused her to skip school and suffer an anxiety attack. For a 13-year-old that could ruins someone's life. Their reputation is everything at school,' he told Ten Daily.

One girl told Hijab House that she was told to wear tight clothing so they could see her body shape while another girl's photo was posted on a pornographic website.

With stores in Sydney, Melbourne and the Middle East, Hijab House believes the scammer is a man who is working his way through the retailer 523,000 followers.

Mr Houcher said Instagram, the Office of the eSafety Commissioner, Crime Stoppers and NSW Police were all alerted about the scam, which wasn't taken seriously until Australian Federal Police were contacted.

'The conversations often go for weeks and they're done in a way where trust is built up. It's all tailored to each specific girl, her life, and her online presence,' he told 10 Daily.

'If this scammer is getting through to some girls then he's going to keep doing it, but if he's constantly getting blocked, then he won't be able to find fresh victims.'

Australian Federal Police confirmed it's aware of young teenage followers of the Instagram account being groomed online and is investigating.

'We have received reports of an individual posing as an employee of the company and asking the young people – many aged between 13 and 17 – to provide sexualised images of themselves,' a spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

'These photos are then used to blackmail the victims into sending further images.

On Wednesday, Hibjab House took to Instagram to post a happy photo of young hijabs to thank everyone for the overwhelming response in recent days and hopes that 'this horrible saga' will hopefully stop.

'We chose this photo because it so beautifully captures the spirit of the online hijab community, thank you for your help and thank you for trusting us,' the post states.

'You honestly helped so many young girls and probably even saved a life. Before our post, about 30 girls a day were DMing us about the scam asking if it's real. Today that number has dropped to zero.'
