Residents join ‘Run for Unity’
TNN | Nov 1, 2018, 07:56 ISTLudhiana: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is also celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), ‘Run For Unity’ event was organised in the city on Wednesday. This event was flagged off by additional deputy commissioner of police Surinder Lamba.
While addressing the gathering at Guru Nanak Stadium, Lamba said, “All of us should dedicate ourselves for the unity, integrity and security of our nation.” He also spoke about the life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event started from Guru Nanak Stadium and passed through Club Road, Fountain Chowk, Mall Road, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Durga Mata Mandir before ending at the Guru Nanak Stadium. The event was attended by more than 500 athletes, children and city residents.
