Forest Dept. holds on Vana Darshini every Thursday

The Forest Department in Adilabad has started a novel programme called Vana Darshini for students of government schools with the aim to familiarise them with forest and its benefits. The programme is being conducted at Mavala Park every Thursday and this was the third instance in which Conservator of Forest C. Saravanan, who is also the Field Director, Project Tiger, Kawal Tiger Reserve, participated.

Mr. Saravanan told the students about the importance of forest and how it was responsible for good rainfall in the given areas. He also asked the students to take the message of forest protection to their parents and others. District Forest Officer B. Prabhakar introduced students to a variety of species of trees, especially some which are rare in these parts. A class VI student of Zilla Parishad High School, Mavala, Ranuja Devi, celebrated her birthday at the park by planting a sapling.

The students were given a tour of different sections of the park. Forest Divisional Officer V. Chandra Shekhara Rao was also present.
