Thousands of pieces of a popular fast food product have been strewn across a busy regional freeway after a truck accident.
A young driver lost control of his KFC transport van, rolling it onto its side and spilling popcorn chicken along Victoria's Western Freeway on Thursday afternoon.
The truck was delivering chicken to a store in Ballarat, about 125km west of Melbourne when it crashed at about 2pm on Thursday.

A man aged in his 20s was injured in the crash, Nine News reports.
He was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital with hip and pelvis injuries, but remains in a stable condition and is expected to be discharged soon.
Meanwhile, emergency services are frantically diverting peak hour traffic headed towards Ballarat.
A lengthy clean-up is expected, with thousands of pieces of frozen chicken scattered across the side of the road.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown, though Ballarat's wild weather could be to blame.
Earlier on Thursday, the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a thunderstorm and damaging winds alert to the area of the rollover.
Peak gusts of up to 110km/h were forecast for the region throughout the day.
