Ujjain: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal on Wednesday inspected firecracker market located in Samajik Nyay Parisar ahead of Diwali and took the stock of arrangements there. The officials concerned were instructed to maintain proper distance between two shops, allowing for passage of fire brigades in any untoward situation. She also instructed that fire extinguishers be installed in every shop.The commissioner also inspected cleanliness arrangements in Nanakheda and surrounding areas. She also inspected Vivekanand Colony and appealed the residents to cast their votes.
Indira Gandhi, Sardar Patel remembered
On the death anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi and birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) staffers paid tribute to both the leaders and took the oath of national unity. On this occasion additional commissioner Manoj Pathak and Pawan Kumar Chouhan were also present.
Allotment of firecracker shops today
Ujjain Municipal Corporation will hold lottery for allotment of firecrackers shop to be set up UMC premises and Samajik Nyay Parisar areas on Thursday.
