Brake inspector dies of cardiac arrest
TNN | Nov 2, 2018, 00:50 ISTCoimbatore: A brake inspector attached to Coimbatore Central RTO died of cardiac arrest while he was being interrogated by DVAC sleuths in the city on Thursday evening.
A team of DVAC sleuths conducted a surprise check at the RTO central zone on Dr Balasundaram Road around 2pm. The brake inspector, Babu, 51, of Kavundapadi in Erode district, had hid Rs 75,510 inside the toilet flush tank in his room . The DVAC sleuths managed to retrieve the amount. They also seized Rs 8,160 unaccounted money from his possession. When they conducted inquiry with Babu around 4pm, he told them that he was having chest pain and feeling uneasy. The sleuths immediately took Babu to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead. Meanwhile, another team of DVAC sleuths conducted surprise check at Sulur RTO office and seized Rs 17,000 unaccounted money from the office. tnn
