A betting company is refusing to pay up after a math whizz won close to $150,000 on a three-leg multibet on last year's footy grand finals.
Jonathan Simon received odds of about 4000 to one when he placed the $36 multibet on Dustin Martin and Billy Slater to win best on ground in the AFL and NRL deciders.
Mr Simon chose multiple combinations of the pair taking out the Norm Smith Medal and Clive Churchill Medal at a TAB self-service machine at the Glasshouse in Melbourne in 2017.
Mr Simon thought he had pocketed $147,456 when the superstars took out the honours but Tabcorp refuted the win and listed the return as 'Nil Pay' due to a technical error, The Herald Sun reported.

According to the betting provider, the machine accepted Mr Simon's bets because they were promotional offers - but it included an invalid multiplier that's not allowed.
The 20-year-old bet on multiple combinations of Dustin Martin to win the Norm Smith medal and Billy Slater to win the Clive Churchill medal.
While the first leg was for Dustin Martin to win and the second leg was Dustin Martin and Billy Slater to win, the third leg was for both players for the same awards - multiplying the odds to about 4000 to one.
Tabcorp said they rejected the ticket because it contained the same bet in different legs, increasing the odds more than normal - making it invalid.
Mr Simon said he is disappointed with how the betting provider has responded to the winning ticket and has taken the matter to gaming industry's umpire.
'Tabcorp's arguments for not paying the bet just don't make sense. I'm legally entitled to $150,000,' Mr Simon said.

'If they paid I would give 10 per cent to charity, maybe take some friends on a holiday give some to my family to use and save for a house.'
Mr Simon said given that Tabcorp accepted his bet in the first place, it's a 'matter of principle' they only pay the winning ticket.
The Monash University mathematics student first reached out to Tabcorp in October 2017, but he claimed didn't receive a response.

After he hired a lawyer in November, Mr Simon said he allegedly received a letter from Tabcorp rejecting the ticket, but offering to pay $1,152 as a goodwill gesture.
The 20-year-old said he refused the offer and not long after, Tabcorp allegedly followed up with a revised offer of $4,608 in December.
Unhappy with the offers, Mr Simon has since filed a complaint with the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation.
In a statement provided to The Herald Sun, the VCGLR confirmed the matter was under investigation but said they were unable to comment further.
Tabcorp also said in a statement: 'As this matter is before the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation it is inappropriate for us to comment on it.'
