'[Veganism] healed a lot of diet issues and sensitives, but the biggest difference I've noticed is the strength of my immune system now,' she told the publication.
'There are so many nutrients in vegetables – way more than there is in meat and dairy – that you're getting enough if you're eating healthy foods,' she explained, adding that she is only vegan '98 per cent' of the time.

The three-time gold medallist gained weight while living in America in 2014 but it wasn't until she changed her restrictive mindset towards food and working out that she finally saw a change.

Earlier this year, the sportswoman shared her typical daily diet and unique, 'non-negotiable' morning routine.
Speaking to Australian nutritionist Jessica Sepel, Stephanie said she starts a standard day at 7.30am before using her tongue scraper, drinking 600mL of water and making a lemon tea - the latter including half a lemon and coconut oil.
As she drinks she follows 'Tim Ferris' journalling advice' where she lists 'three things I am grateful for and three things I want to achieve that day'.

Stephanie then enjoys a black coffee made using her Nespresso machine, heads to her home gym for a short 20 to 30 minute bodyweight workout and finishes the routine with a 'morning priming' session on her yoga mat.
'He [Tony Robbins] talks you through a process of visualising a moment you are incredibly grateful for, then visualising three things you want to achieve in the next six to 12 months,' she said.
This takes Stephanie through to 10am when she has a protein shake with almond milk before she heads to a local cafe to do some work.

There, she stays until lunch - which is usually 'steamed greens, marinated tofu, crumbed mushroom, avocado and kimchi' - and by 6.30pm she is sitting down for dinner.
'At the moment, dinner is usually beans or lentils, fresh greens and veggies, topped with almonds or peanuts, tamari or nutritional yeast. I like to eat dinner around 6.30pm as it's best for my digestion before bed,' she said.
Stephanie enjoys coconut yoghurt with peanut butter for dessert and heads to bed between 11 and 11.30pm.
