Cheques given to families of cylinder blast victims

Ludhiana: Member of parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu distributed insurance cheques to families of victims of the cylinder blast in Samrat Colony of Giaspura in April.

In the blast, 40 persons were injured, of which 14 succumbed to their injuries, and one person suffered a loss of property. The Punjab government had provided free treatment to all the injured persons. Speaking on the occasion, Bittu said compensation was provided by the gas company. Terming the incident as ‘very tragic’, he assured the families of victims that the Punjab government and the Congress party stood rock solid with them.


Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLA Sanjay Talwar, mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, and District Congress Committee (Urban) president Gurpreet Singh Gogi.
