- Victoria has eight of the ten spots, while Sydney has top position, and Tasmania at number six gets a look in
Sydney may be Australia's most expensive city, but Melbourne is streets ahead when it comes to desirable neighbourhoods.
Wolseley Road in Point Piper, the home of Australia's most expensive harbour-front mansions, was the only Sydney street in a real estate giant's top ten list of the most searched for locations online.
The REA Group, which publishes realestate.com.au, had the street in Sydney's east, which offers views of the Harbour Bridge, as its number one.

Highett Street in trendy Richmond (pictured), in Melbourne's inner-east, grabbed the second spot for being popular with young people, being near a range of hipster cafes

Watts Parade in Mount Eliza (pictured), south of Melbourne, made the number three spot, with the coastal suburb seeming to be the ideal spot for those seeking a seachange from inner Melbourne
The street is home to Westfield founder Frank Lowy, and is a short stroll from the homes of former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond, and the mansions of some of Australia's most powerful captains of industry.
Despite Sydney being home to a world-renowned harbour and sunrise views from the beach, it was soundly beaten by Melbourne, which had a huge total of five entries in the top ten list.
Another three desirable streets were also in Victoria on Port Phillip Bay, located on the south-eastern stretch from Melbourne.
Hobart, like Sydney, had one entry on the list, meaning the remainder of the entries were in a small stretch of Victoria.
Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory all did not make the top ten searched for streets.
