MUZAFFARPUR: Trouble deepened for suspended sergeant major of government railway police (GRP) at Muzaffarpur, Kameshwar Das, as the woman constable who had accused him of seeking sexual favours lodged an FIR on Wednesday evening alleging that she was raped for getting her recruitment papers cleared.

Das was suspended after an audio tape seeking sexual favours from the victim for clearing her papers of recruitment on compassionate grounds had gone viral last week. The police headquarters had asked SP (rail) Sanjay Kumar Singh to probe into the allegations.

The victim on Wednesday approached Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar, who directed her to file an FIR with the women’s police station. The victim alleged that Das asked her to follow his instructions for getting recruited in place of her husband, who died of heart attack in February 2013. “My husband was posted at Samastipur. The then SRP had cleared my application for recruitment on compassionate grounds, but Das kept it pending. He cleared the papers only after getting sexual favours from me. But, I kept mum for the sake of job,” she complained.

SSP Kumar said efforts were being made to arrest Das. “The allegation is serious in nature as the accused is a police officer. The victim will get justice in the case,” he said.
