And although her intimate encounters with many of the finalists fail to surprise viewers, the close-up camera work on her kiss with Todd King certainly did on Wednesday.

As the 32-year-old passionately pashed the new frontrunner, viewers were turned off.

Many other viewers debated their tongue technique on social media, with some noting how 'full on' it appeared on screen.

A piano led orchestra echoed throughout, as the soft symphony silenced the inevitable slurping sound their concealed microphones would have captured.

Thankfully for viewers, the 48-seconds of romance was split between a 90-second segment, with the brief breaks cutting to each of the pair gushing about the other.

Although it may have seemed like Ali was simply ensuring she reached her apparent kissing quota per episode to a more passive of viewer, the glowing edit symbolised Todd's transition from background fan favourite to firm frontrunner.

'It's just a natural progression with Todd and I,' Ali said in her post-kiss interview.

'The chemistry is there, the connection is there, he's making this day amazing.'

'I waited so long just to get the opportunity to spend time with Ali and I was honestly starting to questing where I was at and if I belong here,' Todd then stated.

'But here I am having the most incredible experience. She has just kissed me and it was absolutely perfect.'

The producers then cut back to Ali, who added: 'It has been quite a slow burn getting to know Todd but today has just blown it out the water and I'm really excited.'
