A mother-of-six has been sentenced to jail after stealing more than $70,000 from Centrelink which she used to fund extravagant holidays, a new home and IVF treatment.
Amanda Jane Greensill, née Page, admitted to defrauding $71,602.71 from Centrelink when she appeared in Ipswich District Court, Queensland, this week.
The 40-year-old from Brassall, about 41km from Brisbane, will spend Christmas behind bars for the crimes she committed between April 2013 and November 2016, The Queensland Times reported.

Amanda Jane Greensill, married name Page, admitted to defrauding $71,602.71 from Centrelink in Ipswich District Court, Queensland, this week
Commonwealth prosecutor Aimee Sanderson said Greensill married Mr Page at the Watermark Hotel on the Gold Coast in 2013 before conceiving twins through IVF in 2014.
Greensill has three older children from an earlier marriage and previously received single-parenting payments for the kids as well as disability support due to disability suffered to hands since birth.
Her new relationship with Mr Page was assessed and Greensill declared she would not receive payments because of his earnings.
In April 2013 Greensill claimed her relationship with Mr Page ended and they were no longer living together - but he was living at her sister's home.
'It was misleading as she remained in a relationship with Mr Page, and in August 2013 they were married,' Ms Sanderson said.
The court heard the couple bought a block of land and built a seven-bedroom home which Greenshill moved into in June 2015 but did not notify the department about the change of address.

During the fraudulent period, Greenshill went on a honeymoon to Hawaii and took family vacations to Vanuatu and America

She also held joint bank accounts and insurance with Mr Page.
'It was a deliberate course of conduct to conceal her marriage,' Ms Sanderson said.
Defence barrister Tony Kimmins sought for minimal jail time and told the court Greensill was the primary care giver to her six children aged between three and 13.
'The situation is Mr Page will have to resign from his work. They don't have anyone to look after their six children. They won't be thrown out on the street,' Mr Kimmins said.
Judge Dennis Lynch QC said the 'serious' offending wasn't necessity but to do with providing a better lifestyle for her family.
Greensill was sentenced to two years jail, to serve three months.
