According to a story from NBC LA in Los Angeles Josh Davis, 36, was walking home Sunday night after the World Series win wearing a Red Sox hat when he was confronted by two men on a sidewalk.

A Red Sox fan who suffered a beating that hospitalized him hails from Fall River.

According to a story from NBC LA in Los Angeles Josh Davis, 36, was walking home in the Koreatown section of the city Sunday night after the World Series win wearing a Red Sox hat when he was confronted by two men on a sidewalk. He said one of the assailants was wearing a Dodgers jersey and hat. During the encounter words were exchanged and then body blows and then more people showed up.

During the beating Davis said he was stabbed with what he believed was a screwdriver.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, Davis said he was "doing OK, just very sore."

"Hey guys!
"I am doing ok,just very sore!
"Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers.sorry I haven’t responded back to most of you guys, just taking it easy right now. I’ll be in touch to thank each and everyone of you. One thing I have learned from this is to not indulge in trash talk with people u don’t know! After getting into a brawl with two Dudes the third one whistled for more help, in the blink of an eye I was surrounded by a large group of them and started to fear for my life and just started going Tanzanian devil after they started striking me. I wanted to keep this private at first due to them stealing my phone and wallet because they have a lot of my information! Now I’m hoping justice is served after the investigation," Davis wrote.

Davis described himself as being from Fall River on his Facebook page and a tweet from NBC LA reporter Robert Kovacik said Davis was born in Fall River, raised in North Carolina and now lives in Los Angeles.
